Post-Christmas Picture Posting...

I had to wait til after Christmas to post the things I made as gifts...
Soooooome people like to peek!
I tried my hand at a few sewing projects this year:
'Sock' Long-Johns and Dammit Dolls.
These were truly 'labours of love' because though I hold a College Degree in Dressmaking & Design... I hate sewing. Truly despise doing it. I used to sew a lot, perhaps that did me in but likely it's because I have Carpal Tunnel and it just... hurts. :O(
Dammit Dolls:
These were unstuffed plain muslin dolls I hand-painted the faces and the 'D' logo on (front & back), stuffed and sewed shut.
Tag Reads:
Whenever things don't go so well...
And you want to hit the wall and yell...
Here's a little dammit doll
That you can't do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
And find a place to slam it
And as you whack the stuffing out
Yell, "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!"

'Sock' Long-Johns:
Wonderful Gift for the Men on my list... 2 pairs of socks masquerading as long-johns!
Tag reads:
I made you some long johns
But they turned out too small
In fact I don't think
They will fit you at all.
So take off the buttons
And snip the threads
You will have two pair of socks instead!

Funny Bunny...

More NavCan stuff... busy working on stuff for the Craft Sale's and my health has been less than stellar so I apologize for the lag in postings... 100 lashes with a Wet Noodle will be applied for being a 'Bad Blogger', I promise!
I brought up TONS of pictures of our new Baby Bunny, Cleopatra ~Cleo~... This is just some of the pages I did of her:
The Story:
There is ALWAYS a story... That's why we scrapbook, right? Right. ;0)
2 page 12 X 12 LO
Used the 12 X 12 DCWV 'Once Upon a Time' paper for this and it just MADE the LO. I bought this paper because it was just tooooo beautiful to not have in my 'stash'. With a few glittery embellishments from MM and some BLING stickers... voila! Royal panache...
Journaling:
A Tale of 2 Bunnies…
We went up to Bearbrook Farms to check it out as a possible Wedding Venue. On the way up Greg checked his lottery ticket while getting gas and found out he’d won $5.
When we got to Bearbrook and were waiting we saw a glimps of white under a bush… one of the baby bunnies they had out for sale had escaped! I followed him and caught him, returned him to the cage with his Mother & Sister.
Then we saw the wedding co-ordinater and it turned out the date we wanted was spoken for… she felt bad we’d come all that way for nothing, so she let us take a quick tour of the farm to take some pictures.
When we got back from the tour we noticed the bunny had escaped again… so we decided we’d take him home. There had been a sign in the store that they had baby bunnies for sale for $5… just the amount we had won. Hmmm… Having recently lost Cloud, our other bunny to old age we hadn’t been openly looking but waiting for fate to step in…
HE had other ideas!
After over an hour of trying to catch him, he’d run under the juniper bushes and we’d been trying to poke him out with a broom handle, we decided to take the Sister home instead.
So tiny, she wasn’t even 2 lbs at 8 weeks old. Named her Cleopatra for the dark kohl like markings around her eyes… a true Queen! Who’s stolen everyone’s heart from the start.

Random Cleo-ness:
She was 8 weeks old in most of these pictures... the fuzzy, baby, cuteness to hard to resist by a picture happy, camera wielding Scrapbooker!
2 page 12 X 12 LO
After a trip to the local Scrapbook Store Auntie Em's, I got some inspiration. In other words I bought some stuff I wanted to use right away... tis the way! 12 X 12 paper from Bo Bunny that was on clearance, I just looooved the colors. I also picked up some Felt Flowers from Creative Impressions for a page challenge... the colors were perfect together. Added some Twill tape, punched out paper circles and matching brads.
Journaling:
Little Scamp!
Sleepy Bunny…
Mount’Veggie!
Can we be friend?
Are you my Mommy?
Can I eat this?
How about this?
Ohhh… those look Yummy!
Dalmatian Bunny

Bunny Vrs Ironman
Single Page 12 X 12 LO
This was the 2nd page I did up at NavCan... just fun! I'm still thinking about adding some eyelets or brads along the yellow strip near the top... when I have time. lol Funny Bunny.
Journaling:

Bunny: 1

Cleopatra decided to take on IronMan in battle…
Poor IronMan didn’t know what he was in for.
GO BUNNY!!!

Work, Work, Work...

I've been a busy bee lately... so many things going on my plate for the upcoming Craft Sale's KeepSake's Crafts is participating in through November & December.
I thought I'd share a 'sneak-peek' at some of it.
*WARNING*
These are raw & unfinished...

Some of the Unmounted Magnets I've made using re-purposed, rescued from the trash CD's & DVD's. I still need to sand down some raw spots and glue on the magnets:

A Closer View:

These are the Unmounted Pins... again need some sanding, cleaning up and to have the Pin-Backs attached:

More NavCan Pages...

As promised some more pages I completed while up at NavCan.

First:
This one I'm really proud of. I've been hoarding these pictures of Thomas with plans to do a really good page and finally gave in. It was the 'beautiful' in BLING that pushed me to do it... so precious!

Second:
This was just a fun layout once it was done, but let me tell you soooo hard to cut right! Trying to get the angles just 'so' *groan* It looks good but I wouldn't try it again, wasted a lot of paper. All the wording is one of the newer Daisy Bucket Designs Rub-On sheets (Rainbow) I LOVE it... I'm a big color person so this layout is just so very ME. Life's to short for Beige (or White!)... story of my life. lol

Prizes!!!
This is aaaaalll the goodies I got in my 'Swap Bag'. We each brought up a goodie bag or package of sh-tuff to put on the prize table... Sunday Morning we had some contests, competitions, bingo awards, etc... to determine the 'picking' order for goodies.
I chose this package because I LOVED the tissue paper, girlie yet not PINK. lol Can't see it well but it's covered in shoes, I like shoes. *G*
It was jam-packed with Creative Memories sh-tuff. I'm not sure if I'll us the album I'm not a huge fan of the their albums but I love the stickers. Yes, I'm still a sticker scrapbooker and proud of it! Papers, very 'boy' (fwef!) and some awesome templates. I like my goodie bag.

Still lots more to come... watch for it!!!

She's Baaaaackkkk...

I've been busy, busy on client work and had almost no time to dally with my own sh-tuff. This past weekend I snuck away to a retreat weekend in nearby Cornwall with a WONDERFUL bunch of ladies. Despite the lack of sleep, due to excitement and an early, early morning fire alarm, it was a highly productive weekend. 19 12X12 Layouts done and 14 6X6 swap pages done. I'll post these pages over the next few weeks because alas... I must start work on the items for the Craft Sales I'm participating in over Nov-Dec and I'll have no time for my own sh-tuff for a good long time.
This was the 6X6 calender swap. I made-up 12 September pages... will pass them in, then get a full year back. Yes, I know there are 14 in the pictures, made a few extra because the supplies were already cut. Maybe I'll get some great ideas when I get the swap back and finish them off!

This was the 1st page I completed when I got up there. Total time: 20 minutes. I had the journaling for all my pages pre-printed to match the pictures. I planned to get right at it and get some serious scrapping done!!! These pictures were taken the day before I left but I HAD to bring them with me. My Boyz doing boy things...

More to come soon!

Sharing... Sharing... Sharing...

I'm behind in any personal scrapbooking so nothing new to 'show & tell' with things heading back to school... but I figured I could share a few pictures from the 90th Birthday Book. I won't post all 22 pages but a few and some pictures of the book being enjoyed.
It was truly a pleasure to be there and watch people's faces and listen to all the stories that spun off of each photo... it was was indescribable. But THAT is why I scrapbook. This night was a very good reminder of that.

Socks & Crocs...

No time to write lately... things to do... things to do...
I've spent all my time working on a 12 X 12 Book for a friends Grandmother.
90th Birthday Gift.
It went over soooo well, was a big ol'family reunion with everyone passing the book around. It was a real treat getting to my hard work appreciated like that. More than I could possibly put into words.
However, my health has been bad again, it pretty much drained any reserves I had. I'm working (ha! it never stops... @@) on getting myself better again.
I'd thought I'd tease your eyes with at least one LO I've had time to do. I'm on hiatus for awhile...
ENJOY!

Christmas... on the last day of July!

August is but a quick turn around the corner...
That means (if your a crafter) it's CHRISTMAS TIME!
In the next week or so I'll start digging through and figuring what I have and what I need to start acquiring for Christmas projects.
This year my cards are looking to be a little more 'rounded' than they were last year. (Leave you puzzling on that one... *wink*)

Here's a sample of some of the sh-tuff I made last year...

Card #1:
This one was made using pre-folded, pre-printed card bases from The Paper Company, stamp set 'Santa Post' from Stampin'Up! on glossy paper. I stamped the entire 8 1/2' X 11' paper 1st, then cut into 8 pieces for the cards.

Card #2:
This one was a bit trickier... a 1st for me. Stamp set is 'Renaissance Angel' from Stampin'Up! The Angel is stamped in black, them embossed in silver on the BACK of overhead plastic. The silver behind the black gave it more of the feel of leading... Then coloured in with Sharpies. Next step was sandwiching the overhead between the card and a card-liner insert (also stamped) inside the front of the card itself. The result, though a lot of work, was sooo pretty... the picture really doesn't do it justice.

Card #3:

This was my favorite.

The paper is Deja Views Open Windows series in Holiday Joy (green) and The Paper Elements Fruits series in Cheery (red), yarn from my stash and Brads from Keepsake's Multicrafts home line. Stamp Sets 'All-Year Cheer 1' and 'Snowflakes' from Stampin'Up! Snowflake stamped with VersaMark and embossed in gold, it sort of 'floated' on the page. Again, the picture really doesn't do it justice.

This year I'm working on something a little different in regards to cards. If you already know... shhhh! I'm also altering a tonne of tins & boxes gathered over the summer. I've got my work cut out for me!

oh...

and...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
