75 followers Blog Candy WINNER!!!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to get the actual Goodie Bag together and snap a picture.

I've been 'banned' from the Studio for a few days.
Been ill for almost a week, and as usual kept trucking despite. I've been getting worse, so I've been banned from the Studio. The chemicals I use for some projects, the glue gun, epoxy, spray paint etc... are wreaking havoc on my system.
My Laptop's been moved to the livingroom so I have:
bed (couch), bathroom and food (kitchen) on the same floor.
But I got Netflix! lol
mmm... Tudor-Fest. yum.

I will get a picture up ASAP once I'm back in the Studio.

We're also at 82 followers!
WOW, Thank-You everyone.
18 more followers and I draw for 2 prizes.
A while back I posted a Goodie Bag I'll draw for at 100 followers.
Stepping into the way-way-back machine, it's:
HERE
I'm also going to draw a Goodie Bag, like usual for every 25th follower.

Onto the Draw!

Scrap That Poetry #35: Children By Khalil Gibran

Challenge #35- Children

Children
by: Khalil Gibran
We enjoyed finding inspiration in this week's poem. Come play along with us and use any word, line or the poem in it's entirety to create your layout, card, 3D item.

*************
I must say I absolutely love the poem selections this round, it's a personal favorite.
I Scraped this great picture of William from Summer 2010. He looks so deep in thought...

Here is the whole Poem
(I highlighted the lines I used):

Children
by Khalil Gibran

And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, 'Speak to us of Children.'
And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

I used pattern paper and 'A little BIRD told me' sticker from Crate Paper.
Wee journal tag is from Pink Paisley.
Other paper Collage elements are from My Minds Eye and K&Company.
Flowers are Prima and Kaiser.
Gems are unknown ($ store).
Ink and Markers are Stampin' Up!, as is the corrugated cardboard indirectly... it was part of one of the boxes an order came in. ;O)

Art on the Darkside Challenge #71 : Broken Hearts

Challenge #71 : Broken Hearts

Good day all Darksiders !

This fortnight's challenge is a suggestion made
by Toni (thank you for the input) and i will give
you an optional and short recipe :
corrugated cardboard,
something repurposed.

Happy haunting and happy crafting !

*****************
I used one of the new Steampunk Romance Digi-Stamps by Simply Betty (Grace) colored with Stampin' Up! Markers.
The background is corrugated cardboard, lol... off a SU! box that was annoying me in the way at my feet. Take that stupid box! I splattered the cardboard with dark red glimmer mist (dripping from the tube inside the pump, not spraying).
Broken Heart is coated in 3D Crystal Lacquer.
Flowers are Prima, Brads are Keepsake Craft.
The rest is the Re-purposed portion.
Stickers off a valentine (ripped off then glue gunned on), broken watch and VCR bits and some old ribbon finish off this Postcard.

Another Broken Heart to
add to My Collection...

The Gallery Work Tour *picture heavy* & WINNER for the 400th Post!

I know, I know...
You all want to know who won the 400th Post Blog-Candy.
But 1st, bear with me, I'm going to toot my own horn since I have something worth trumpeting.

I've been crafting for oh, we'll say decades and um, leave it at that *wink* and this month I'm taking a BIG step, having been blessed with the opportunity to have some of my work displayed in a Gallery Show.
I Scrapbook, create Cards, ATC's, Postcards and other Paper Goodies... BUT my true Muse-Soother is Recycled Mixed Media work.

My Personal Motto:

Reduce, Reuse and Redecorate.

Using up as much 'junk' as I can...

Always striving to re-beautify with items that would otherwise go to waste.

I'm lucky enough that 3 of my Mixed-Media Projects will be on display this month at:

Steampunk " The Penny Dreadful " Artshow

A: A Portal is a Door.

Q: Door to where?
A: Open the door and find out.

First in a series of fantastical Doors (ie. Portals) that when opened give you a glimpse at another time... another place... another space...
You don't know what's on the other side til you open the Door. You want to know, don't you.
Go ahead...
Open the Portal.
