So even after a day of trying to thunk on something on something less 'dark' or more profound... NOPE
The Silence it is!
Background started with black and white textures, printed off from the internetz, ripped and Gel Medium-ed onto the cardboard backing from an Art Pad. <--i b="" m="" of="" out="" paper="" white="" wtf="">
Then sprayed and stencilled...
Paint and stencilled...
Stamped and more to create the rest of the background.
Then GM-ed on a picture of The Silence and continued to play with inks and paint to blend him (her?) in.
Added the counting marks and Journalling:

Gives us a

Spray and Stencils...
