DragonsDream TIO #96 - Dedicated Follower of Fashion

This week it is my turn to set the challenge (Wanda).
I have had a song going round in my head for ages (really showing my age with this one).
It is "Dedicated Follower of Fashion".
I think it was by the Kinks. So I challenge you to create something fashion related.
Have fun and please remember to use at least one real stamp in your creations.
******
I was digging through my stamps for another challenge and I happened across 'When I Grow Up' and thought that this little miss would be perfect. Fashionista even from a young age...

April Steampunk Challenge @Scrapbook.com: April Showers

This month’s topic is April Showers.
You know the old saying April Showers bring May flowers?
That is what inspired me for this month's topic.
You can interpret the topic any way you wish.
Just remember to add a Steampunk twist!
**********
This page actually shaped itself out of another Challenge...
I made the Tag for a challenge at:
DragonsDream.
I decided to use papers from the rest of the kit. So you coooould say the Tag was the 'seed' this page grew from. The raindrops are made using punched hearts cut in half, then rounded a bit.
All Papers, Stickers, Journal Block and Tag Elements are K&Company.
Stamps are EK Success and The Rubber Cafe.
Inks and Markers are Stampin' Up!
3D Crystal Lacquer on the Clock.

Dragon's Dream TIO #64 - Impress it On

Dragon's Dream TIO #64 - Impress it On

So, Happy New Year to you all, and I hope we will have a good year at TIO... let's get on with this first tag of the new year. I would like you to dream in impressions this time... so you could use friendly plastic, like my example, here, or you could use UTEE, or Angelina fibres, or wax... lots of things to impress with your stamp. So please impress it on somehow, using at least one real stamp.

***********************************

I ended up using several stamps... some are not readily recognizable though.
I started with a 4" Chipboard circle, inked it heavily in oranges and yellows.
I then stamped many Gears in browns on it. (gel-a-tins Get in Gear set)
Then coated it in Top Boss and UTEE, heated and then did it again.
I then stamped a clock and several gears into the still warm & liquid UTEE. The stamp was coated in dark brown pigment ink. (Stampin Up! Sense of Time set)
I then heated it again, sprinkled some Copper and Vintage Verdigris powder on, heating one more time. While this was liquid I stamped it with the heart coated in Red pigment ink. (SU! Listen with the Heart set)
Finshed with the metal Love sign and copper brad-hanger.
I took several pictures but it's hard to see the layers.
They all 'float' above each other and the piece is quite thick & heavy.
Wall Hanger, not a Tag! lol

Anime... Art?

*giggle*
I've been accused of looking like an Anime Character, Puss-in-Boots from Shrek and Cookie Monster today. Silly eye-drops...

I had an appointment today to see about any aftermath of the damages to my Right Eye made way back in May:
http://keepsakescrafts.blogspot.com/2010/05/cant-do-it-warning-gorry-details.html
GOOD NEWS! It has healed 100%, no lasting damages.
Woot!
Oddly enough it seems the Bonk actually re-aligned some sh-tuff!
My near-sight is BETTER than it was in that eye... I've been looking through too strong a prescription. ha! My Left needs some tweaking aswell so I get new glasses/contacts next week.
*huge sigh of relief*
I'll be able to SEE actually SEE for My Wedding!
I'm so happy. :O)

Tonight my eldest son is having a sleep-over with one of his friends that will be going to a different school next year... I've been BANISHED from my own living room so that can do 12-year old boy things. lol... I don't wanna know.
So I'm hiding in the Studio.
FINE.BY.ME!
Got a few things done already tonight:

4x4 Friday: Observations

a.k.a OPEN THEME! :) Enjoy!

I went with a Binocular Theme for this one.

TIO #52 The Face

Welcome to another TIO challenge, which this week is The Face... I would like you to dream faces this week and please use at least one real stamp...

Made a genuine Gift Tag for this one, my stash of 'Give-Goodies' is running low.
Image is clip-art, part an old Wizard of Oz Poster (Dorothy) and I stamped the 'to:for:S.W.A.K.'
Ink edged the whole thing.
REALLY happy with how this turned out!

Oh Alice! CHAPTER 27: Prizes for Dodo...

"This question the Dodo could not answer without a great deal of thought, and it sat for a long time with one finger pressed upon its forehead (the position in which you usually see Shakespeare, in the pictures of him), while the rest waited in silence. At last the Dodo said, `EVERYBODY has won, and all must have prizes.'
`But who is to give the prizes?' quite a chorus of voices asked.
`Why, SHE, of course,' said the Dodo, pointing to Alice with one finger; and the whole party at once crowded round her, calling out in a confused way, `Prizes! Prizes!'
Alice had no idea what to do, and in despair she put her hand in her pocket, and pulled out a box of comfits, (luckily the salt water had not got into it), and handed them round as prizes. There was exactly one a-piece all round. `But she must have a prize herself, you know,' said the Mouse.
`Of course,' the Dodo replied very gravely. `What else have you got in your pocket?' he went on, turning to Alice..."

Hello all!
We are so excited about today's inspiration piece, which just so happens to feature Alice and the lovable Dodo she encounters along her adventures in Wonderland. We'll even sp are Dodo the croquet game today...less headache! ;)
The Mad Hatter herself is VERY fond of Tarina Tarantino jewelry and is lucky enough to own a VERY fun ring that she scored while in Disneyworld last time.
For today's challenge, we are all gaga over this beautiful piece:

Your mission today is to create SPARKLY FABU LOUSNESS (yes, include some BLING, please!) as inspired by the above photo.

I made an ATC that I totally blinged out.
Background is from Ceremony Share and Alice was part of my in-computer clip-art hoard.
The whole she-bang is Glimmer Misted (cream) and then I blinged-away!
Tried to copy the colors and the butterfly as best I could in my smaller, flatter piece.
Oh, and I WANT that necklace! :::drool:::

Hiding in the Studio...

I'm not sure who fed my kids the caffeine today but Holy.Toledo!!!!
They were rambunctious today.
Bed time could not have come soon enough...
I decided to head straight into the Studio for some 'non-kid' time.

Tonight's projects ended up being pretty ink-y.

Dragons Dream TIO #49 - Paper Roses...

I've had these paper roses for awhile...
I bought them because the colors were just gorgeous!
I'm glad I finally got a chance to use a few from my 'hoard'... lol.

Working on my stash of 'Thank-You' items with the wedding coming up and all those that are helping out, I'll need 'em!
Glimmer misted, Stamped then assembled.
Stamp Set is Stampin'Up! & Paper DCWV.
Flowers and Butterfly: $ store!

Kard Krazy TagTuesday Challenge -- Christmas "Colors" in July

So for today's challenge I thought we would do Christmas "colors" in July. Which means to create a tag using the traditional Christmas colors of red and green -- but do NOT make it a Christmas tag. Bring these colors into a tag that has some other theme than Christmas.

Yet another opportunity to grab one of my Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps!
Giselle today... garbed in Christmas colors.
Markers: Stampin'Up! Paper DCWV Christmas card stack.
Care for Tea?

Christmas in July at Tuesday Taggers!
So onto this weeks theme which is Christmas in July. Lots of festive goings on around blogland... So what do you have to do? Make something Christmassy and link it back here. So looking forward to seeing your Festive creations

Mixture of Stamp Sets on this one both Fancy Pants and Stampin'Up!
Started with some Glimmer Mist, then stamped, ripped,
inked then Mulberry-Papered.
The golden bells were off a broken Christmas ornament.
One less Christmas Card to make now! :O)

Rush-Tags!!!

I'm sooooo behind this week... blame it on a combination of Wedding Preparations & stress over the up-coming court case (I'm testifying against my EX who threatened to kill us. Been a looooong wait.). I'm not sure which way I'm going! lol
I'm hoping it's not to late late to slide my Dragon's Dream TIO and Tuesday Tagger works in.

Dragon's Dream TIO: Shabby Chic
This week, I would like you to dream in shabby chic and to use at least one real stamp.

ENJOY!!!
Frankie
xx

I did use a stamp but despite my up-close shot it still didn't show really well. I used a stippled stamp to 'age' the flowers with brown ink.

Tuesday Taggers: Anniversaries
It is my 21st Wedding Anniversary on 15th July - eeekk!! All those years with the same bloke! Well, he is my soul-mate and bestest friend (pass me the sick bucket! LOL) So that is why I have set this challenge for you. I'd love to see any projects featuring anniversaries, not just wedding ones! Any project you like, tags, scrap layouts, cards, whatever, just as long as there is a reference to anniversaries on it somewhere!!

I dug into the antique lace for this one!

It's a Tag-y kinda day...

I decided it was time to dust off some of my urm... rather large, stamp collection and let them see some day-light. ;O)
I got 3 tags done for different challenges all using stamps.

Dragons Dream Tag It On: #46 Inchie by Inchie
This week I have dreampt in inchies - pieces one inch square or round.
So that is your challenge.
Choose your theme and 3 colours then make inchies to cover your tag.
Use at least one stamp and ENJOY!!!

I dug out a StampinUp! Set 'In Style'.
I used 3 colors of Glimmer Mist: Tuscan Sun, English Ivy and Blue Skies.
The Tag is sprayed with the yellow, the rest with a combination of all 3.
I sprayed a sheet of cardstock then cut it up to make the background, title and inchies.
All other elements are stamped in black
and well as the edging.
...just my style!

Tuesday Taggers: Make a Scene!
Yep I want you to make a scene!
This theme can be interpreted in so many ways, having an argument, creating a stage, creating a scene with stamps - it's endless.

I mixed and matched a few stamps on this one. The bulk are from the Stampin'Up! 'Garden Seeds' set: dirt, sign post, Garden of Weedin' and smaller plants.
The larger flower bundle and butterfly is Penny Black.
Dragonfly is Studio G.
Leaves stamped on the tag itself... unknown.
Everything was colored with Stampin'Up! Markers.
Welcome to the Garden on Weedin'!

Kard Krazy: Tag Tuesday Challenge
Last week's challenge was a two-week challenge, The theme is still summer.

More and more Glimmer Mist here...
I used a scrap that had a touch of the green from the ...just me style! tag...
and sprayed it VERY liberally with yellows, oranges and reds to create a sunset 'feel'.
Th
e Couple stamp in from Stampin'Up! 'Summer by the Sea' set,
the quote from 'Seaside Sketches'.
Everything was edges in brown and the tag was sprayed in blues.
Summer Sunsets: Priceless...

Dragons Dream Tag It On: TIO #45...

This week, Dragon has gone really grungy!!!
metallic mode
is your challenge this week.
Use anything you like but make it look metallic and make it 3D.
Please try to use at least one stamp...

Well I used a little more than 1 stamp this time round. ;O)
The Tag (A-Typical Manila shipping tag) was sprayed with both brown and then red Glimmer Mist. Then I stamped the Asian Symbols (Stampin'Up! Kanji) in black. Next the writing in a soft grey (12 X 12 Fancy Pants Christmas set) then the 1st 3 Coins on the Tag itself. (Coins: Inkadinkado) I heat embossed the coins in 'old gold' then colored them in with metallic markers and gold pencil crayon. The 2 3D Coins were stamped, embossed, colored then cut out of another Tag then attached with Pop-Dots. Lastly the Fortune Cookie inserts were stamped (Inkadinkado), cut out then attached.
Finishing off with red'n'gold, black ribbon and gold thread.
hey... hey... I made Money!

Chop-Chop...

I was not feeling to craft-y this morning... too many other things cluttering up my brain. Once the house was a wee bit tidier and my afternoon meeting cleared away I felt the Creativity Cork *POP* and we were off to the races...

The 1st 2 projects started as snippets off this Collage Sheet from Ceremony Share
(link on the picture)...

This one is for Dragon Dream Tag-It-On (TIO#41) SteamPunk Influences
ooohhhh... you all know me... They HAD me at SteamPunk!!!
I started with a chunk of the clock then embellied the ever-luvin' heck out it with some of my metal collection, watch bits and a small touch of Glimmer Misted Lace.
lol...
I'm not sure how much this weighs now but it's definitely a Heavy Metal Project. ;O)

This Postcard is for Haunted Design House (HDH041) Vile Vintage
It was the look on her face that sold me... soooo evil.
The Dagger and Serf Head were snippets both from some Halloween Clip-y sh-tuff I already had in my 'puter. Blood is my token 3D Crystal Lacquer coated over painted (dripped) on Glimmer Mist, with more GM over when it dried.
Now THAT'S a Red Queen! bwaahhhh-hhhaa-hhaaa!!!

This 4X4 comes from a snippet of a much larger 'Time' Collage Sheet
(unsure of origin) for The Three Muses Challenge 53: Time
I put a Tim Holtz Mask on, sprayed with green & brown Glimmer Mist. Then I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to stick the quote on, also coating the quote... then another quick Glimmer Mist spritz when partly dry.
I wish the picture for this one was better it looks sooo much better IRL.
