Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 14: SINGAPORE

Late, late, late... again... but done!
This week I used an image of a rather unique sculpture that stands just outside the SAM: Singapore Art Museum on the right,  the one on the left is from outside the Superman Museum in Metropolis.
It reads:
"Things are HOT at the SAM: Singapore Art Museum"

This week Charity was writing to Duke:

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 13: Turkey

It's Friiiiiday, so it's postcard reveal day over at Art & Sole.
This week one of our time travelers traveled back in time to Turkey-past.
Postcard has Turkish tiles as a back ground and a Turkish Belly-Dancer cut with a SLICE (Think Pink card).  She's dressed in foiled pattern paper and several shimmery vellum 'scarves' with sparkles embedded in them, then trimmed out with silver gel-pen.

This week Duke's reporting in to Charity...
Fez and all!

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 12: Israel

That was a hard one! So many negative images came up on the search, I wanted Happy and Positive.
Think it was achieved...
Image of young students, Israel's bright future, overlaid with Heat Embossing.
The Star is from the 'Shalom!' Set made by Close to my Heart, then I free-hand (read: smeared) the stripes.

This week Charity is writing to Duke and it looks like her time travel band is back to working like a charm! (...for now...)

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 11: The Netherlands

Another week, another Postcard sent by one of the two history recording time travelers...

This Week Duke is in the Netherlands witnessing 1st hand the aftermath from the Great Dike Flood of 1825.
*THIS* was the hardest one for me to date... not a brilliant card by any means but done, and that's what's important. :O) Flag overlaid with a Dutch Windmill silhouette.

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 10: CANADA!

Home Sweet Home!
Should be easy right?
... you think I could get it in on time?
nope.

Problem was I *knew* we had this great photo in the extra storage drive that's been having a big'ol Diva hissy-fit this week, blocking everyone out at random moments. Beat it into submission today, huzzah!
Sooo... here it is:
Stamps on the front are all Stampin'Up! 'I Love Canada' set.
Picture's from the Mosaika performance here in Ottawa on Parliament Hill. http://mosaika-sl.ca/mosaika.asp?lang=en

Word Stamps on the back are Studio G and the Maple Leaf is from the SU! set.
Ohhh no... it looks like Charity's time travel band did goof-up... dropping her in a dangerous situation!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 144

Wednesday has arrived *again*.
Where did the past week go?!
eep!

Pop on over to:
Stamping Ground
to see what all is on everyone Else's desk this week.

This week not much done other than my Book of Days entries. :O(
They don't look as pretty as they did earlier but there *are* roses. Greg trying to cheer me up in the middle of all the oooglies we were dealing with.
We had a bit of a kerfluffle last (2 ago) Sunday that set the mood here to 'stressed'. My EX showed up at the door with gifts for the older 2's birthdays. He's on a 3 year no-contact order so this was a total and complete no-no. Fall-out ensued and we've been picking up the pieces.
I DID however get out for a bit of 2nd hand Retail Therapy, that's what's on my desk this week:
Cuban Cigar box, 50 cents! Waffling between altering vrs. leaving alone since it's already just so durn pretty... hmm...
6X6 'Travel' scrapbook I'm going to use for my postcards from the 2012 Postcard Challenge. yippee! Only $1.99.
8 packs of stickers... 25 cents each.
Tim Holtz Music Notes Mask for 50 cents.
...and a wooden Light Switch Plate, $1.50. I'm going to stain & steampunk for the living-room. It'll match the one already made and up by the front door. So happy *G* it's the littlest things that please me the most.
Onward and Upward and here's to a more productive week ahead!
huzzah!!!

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 8: Cuba

Went sh-exy for this weeks Postcard front... Super inspired (musta been that recent Sexapalooza event...) and went the Cuban Heel route with some extra sinful smokes to round things out. ;)
This week Charity is writing to Douglas.
oooo... it looks like she had some trouble with her time streaming device.
Let's hope that doesn't get any worse or she could wind up in the wrong place or the wrong time in the future... or is that the past...

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 7: Wales

*squeed!* when I saw the theme this week...
Wales... Welsh... Welsh Corgis! Logical thought pattern for someone who was born to parents that have never been without a Corgi in da'house. lol

Went 'fun' on this card, been a lousy week of sick here...
*I* need the cheery grin-age.

This week had Duke traveling to 1925 for a Dog Show.

Postcard Challenge 2012 Week 6: Belgium

Week 6 and finally up to date...
Still book-less, but at least *all* the cards are done.

Week 6 at the Postcard Challenge 2012 is Belgium:

mmm... chocolate... rawr!

Postcard Challenge 2012: ~ Austria ~ Spain ~ Brazil ~ Chine ~ France ~

Yesterday I got a chance to get all caught up with the Postcard 2012 Challenge over at Art & Sole... what a lovely project idea!
The 'meat' of the project info is HERE.
FAQ section is HERE.

My 2 characters are Time Travelers, recording events in journals (which I *may* make too... we'll see...), planning to see each other again when their separate 'research and record' is all done. They are writing each other at neighboring PO Box's in London. Busy enough location to slip in and out of to gather correspondence without looking too out of time, er... place.
...and that's all I'm saying. The Story will unfold over the year on their postcards.

Found scanned images of stamps from each country for the back...
Need to find some postal rubber stamps though, only have 1 and I dislike the carbon-copy repetition over several countries. The Time Travel aspect means I'm not sh-tuck in any century for images on the cards or the stamps (prices, images etc...) I like that. :O)
In my 'travels' I found many useful images at:
Vintage Printables

The Story of Douglas 'Duke' Murphy and Charity Browne has begun...

Austria

Spain

Brazil

China

France

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 140

Don't forget to pop in at:
Stamping Ground
To see what everyone is up to this week!

*not* been a productive week so the 'piles' are high. boo!
Hubby fell on the ice at work and has been off. In addition he picked up strep throat along the way in one of the many doctor's office, clinic and hospital he's visited. So the routine this week has been more 'off' than it was last week.
There-There... Poor Bunny.

The pile of books to the left:
-Art Calendar 2012 366 Challenge
-Art Journal out for NaNoJouMo February edition
-Book of Days
and the Big Yellow Book of Scheduling.
Which had us off to Doctors appointments for the Biggest and Smallest boy and Physio for the Hubs tomorrow.
I *DID* manage to get caught up on my Postcards for the 52 Weeks Postcard Challenge. Still need to share, will get them posted later today (I hope). I'm keeping my eyes peeled for an old Atlas to alter to make a display for them. They're spread across the middle for now.
...and my pretty Fleurs!
Greg got them for me last week. :O) Last week was (still is) a week my S.A.D. took over. More interested in zzzzz... than 'making' or moving right now. *yawn*
Would like to hibernate through the rest of the winter.
That means I'm needingto be off rustling up coffee!
