The very 1st Sketch with Stash Challenge!

For this one we had to use the sketch provided AND mixed alphabets for titling.

My layout is of our (now annual) trip to the place we had our year-and-a-day-before-the-wedding Celtic Betrothal Handfasting ceremony. On our Wedding Anniversary we go to the same stone we stood on for the swearing that day and we bring a stone from our garden to leave behind. September 25th 2012 was our 2nd Anniversary and we took these pictures on our visit that day. 

We are moving in less than 3 weeks (YEAH!) so almost everything is now packed including ALL my letter stickers so I used some Word Rub-Ons that were still hanging around and an acetate title overlay for my mixed alphas. 

Papers are from the CTMH 'Key to my Heart' page set.

Flowers are Prima. 

Small Flower has some $1 store pearls in the center. 

Washi Tape, Ribbon, Gems, Acetate and Rub-Ons are unknown to me stash sh-tuff.

A project about any changes since joining the Design Team here at Scrap Our Stash:

As an encore to last month's page about our Celtic Betrothal Handfasting Ceremony in 2009 I made a page for our 1 year Wedding Anniversary in 2011. When I joined all the wonderfully talented ladies here at SOS it was January 2011 and I had *just* gotten married. Now we're swiftly heading towards Wedding Anniversary #2. 

The wheels of time keeps turning!

On our 1 year anniversary we had a nice lunch out, then since the weather was so beautiful we went for a walk in the park our Betrothal Handfasting Ceremony was held. We brought a pretty stone from our garden with us and placed it on the large flat rock we'd stood on to say our vows when we had our hands tied together. We also took some pictures... my favorite being the one of our shadows over that special rock. 

Page base is a My Mind's Eye: Life Stories sheet... part of the much drooled on, but barely used stash.

I cut a piece of white vellum to go across the page, it's slightly wider than 12" so I folded the extra around the base paper on each side. Dug out a Fiskar border punch (threading water) and punched along each edge and threaded the ribbon through. Ribbon is a Celebrate It St.Patrick's Day pattern of wee plaid shamrocks. When threading them through I flipped the vellum around so the stems are facing the photos each way.

Photos were cut using the cutter I saved that never worked right... cuts the edges all 'shaggy' which has it's uses... then I sanded them with an emery board. When attaching the largest photo I left is open underneath on the right so I could hide some journaling underneath. Journaling block is from Little Yellow Bicycle's 'Lucky Me' Journaling Tablet. I punched it with another border punch (leave it to weaver), sliced off that strip and attached it the bottom of the block, then punched the top again to match. 

My favorite part of this page is the LYB Clear Cuts Lucky Me 'logo' with the 'EST.2009' on it: The Year of our Betrothal Ceremony. The September is a rub-on from Bohemia. 

Will be slipping this page into the back of our 'I'm still working on it' Wedding Album, lol.

May 'MAY I?' Challenge

Stuck close to home: Snarf my idea from an Artist who also lives here in Ottawa and who's work I can (and do) spend much time admiring. She does it all: jewelry, painting, journaling... and it's all just so pretty.

Really liked the ripped bits and pieces in this, 

As well as the 'highlighted' framed photo on this piece. 

Though it itself is not a Scrapbook Page, it works as a great template for one. 

Been falling behind in my personal goal to have at least 1/2 of our Wedding Scrapbook done by the end of 2012, so I used this challenge as an opportunity to git'anuther page done. 

The pictures were taken by a dear friends Mother (Barbara McGoey) who attended our wedding. She is a FAB-u-lous photographer who took a bunch of really awesome candid shots. 

 Most the the ripped up bits are either a copy of our Wedding Invitation or the online RSVP information card. 

Background paper is Little Yellow Bicycle 'Lucky Me' line.  

Flower sticker strip (snipped into 2 pieces) and Lucky Journal block (ripped in 2) is also from LYB 'Lucky Me' line. 

Other paper strips are unknown, bits I found in the scrap pile that matched well. 

Bling-y Double Hearts and 12" strip (snipped into smaller pieces) are from KaiserCraft. 

Metal Frame around the Cake is Making Memories. 

The Dreams sticker is from K&Company.

Ribbon was a bit I got in a Swap, er... years ago... *blowing the dust off*

Scrap Our Stash October Design Team Page: Quotes

Time for another wedding page...

Planning to do a few pages using quotes from the songs we used in our wedding; yet again Scrap Our Stash comes through with a perfect challenge.

The words are from 'I Do' by Paul Brandt, the song was playing while we signed the registry.

Pattern Paper and Lace Cut Cardstock are Little Yellow Bicycle 'Lucky Me'. As is the white strip behind the Lace Cut Cardstock: It's the backing from the LCC package. It's patterned in very light green shamrocks... such a waste to toss and it was already co-ordinated!

Bling Letters and Rings are My Big Ideas.

There's been no work coming out of the studio for a few days due to preparations and subsequent celebrations...

Tomorrow Greg and I celebrate our 1 Year Anniversary!


It has been a very blessed year both for our marriage and for our family.
Much of the talk during our Alban Elfed (Autumnal Equinox) celebration Friday evening with extended family centered around this. We are indeed very Lucky.

Good Morning everyone and welcome to our September Challenge here at Stampalot.

This month we are getting into the frame with the theme...................

"It's a Frame Up"

Your entry can be anything you choose providing you frame something on your project. It can be a frame made from nesties for example as some of the DT have done, or a ready made frame, but to be absolutely clear, matted nestie shapes with an image stamped on top will not be considered to be a frame. .......that means either the image or sentiment must be set within an actual frame. We want to be able to say 'What a great frame !'

Not sure which came 1st: The Challenge or the Gift Idea.
Took me several days to work on this, also being my 1st Anniversary Gift for Greg, had to sneak it in bit by bit when he wasn't around.
Paper is for 1st... voila!
I know it's safe to post because he is however 'allergic' to the internet. lol
But still, shhh....

Altered a wood 'box' from the $ store (only $2!) that was designed to look like a Book.
Have added LOTS of pictures of all the angles and several near the bottom of 'work in progress'. In other words... scroll... scroll... keep scrolling... ;O)

The picture is from our 'Dickinson'/Steampunk Christmas Photos last year. Since we both lurve Steampunk, went with that as the main theme for this project...
Intend to use the box to store some of the wee Paper bit collected 'About Us' starting with a copy of our Wedding Invitation and the papers we each read our personalized vows off of .

Started by gluing paper along the 'page' sides. Couldn't find 'stack of paper' patterned stuff, so I used an aged 'wood boards' paper. I think it turned out wonderfully... looks like old, worn and dusty gold trim pages. I do so wish the camera was better to get this detail clearer. I glued paper on then sanded edges, trying not to use the blade if at all avoidable for risk of slicing into the soft wood of the box.
Then I papered the 2 covers, folding the paper right around and corner cutting to make it look like true fabric binding. Then used a marker to heavily stain the ridges on the 'spine'. At this point light dawned on marble head and I unscrewed the hinges and took them right off. *smack* MUCH easier to work around now. The spine was then covered in ink rubbed cardstock, to get a 'leather-y' look. Bits and pieces between the ridges. (I wish THESE could have come off!) and an extra strip down each cover to get that wrap-around look. Then I touched up any white spots with same dark ink used on the spine ridges.
I removed the little pieces they had on the inside to hold the glass/picture in... glued it all in instead so it would be flat. Painted the inside edges black and laid down the Dragonfly Paper. Dragonflies were an important part of our wedding. Added the 'gift plate'.
Finally I embellished the outside: Antique lace around the photo, bit of bling, some fleurs, key and LOVE sign.

So today's challenge goes like this:

2. Or Make a card using Numbers...any numbers, stamped (if you have them!), chipboard, die cut, stickers...
3. Or Mash it Up! and make a card with a gate fold AND numbers!

shhhh!!!
I'm weeeell aware he doesn't check this Blog or Facebook. I play secretary because he's 'allergic' to his computer: He almost never checks and people wonder why he's not getting back...

A bigger version was framed on the Cake/Cupcake Table, with the matching 'Take a Treat' sign on the Candy Buffet.
The Colors for our wedding were Dark Blue and Hunter Green, with touches of white and silver so the card was made to match!
