I made a 6X6" Card.
Using Monique from Kraftin' Kimmie...
Look at those 'pin-up' legs, she's perfect. :O)

I had a fun time coloring her in after adding the stitching (with sharpie)... I made sure each 'part' was a different shade and her eyes are different shades too. Used a Blender Pen to get her hair streaky, but still white-ish.
(Camera does NOT do her justice *grumble grumble*)

ahh... an excuse to Steampunk!
I got my inspiration from our 'Family Steampunk Wall'.
Made up of Family Photos and the lovely Clock we fell in love with from Chapters.
The photos are from our Dickinson Shoot (taken at Christmas) we all wore our Steampunk clothes, minus the goggle and guns for the Holidays!
Framed in mismatched metallic frames, no duplicates.
The larger two are also matted in Gear Stamped paper.
Our walls are painted in Golden Day (love that name!) by Behr
and our parlor couch is also gold.

Which led me to make this...

Kard Krazy: Tag Tuesday-Backgrounds

Backgrounds are the basis for any tag or project, but often backgrounds are beautiful in and of themselves. This week, create a tag that highlights the background that you've created through ink, stamps and inky techniques. Remember, don't cover it up! Use a minimum of embellishments, if any. We want to see that background shine through.

Well, well, well...
Anyone who's knows my style easily could have guessed I would dig out the Tim Holtz Gear Masks and gel-a-tins Shifting Gears stamps.
I started this Postcard with DCWV Once Upon a Time paper from the Matt Stack.
Masked it with Tim Holtz goodness and sprayed it down with Glimmer Mist. Flipping the damp masks over and pressing them onto the paper too. Waste not!
Then stamping more gears on in 2 shades of brown.
Bundle of gears and the sentiment: GET IT IN GEAR! stamps are Krafting Kimmies.
All edges inked for yet a yet more grunge look.

To me apples are a quintessential part of fall...
going apple picking, drinking apple cider, making apple pie...
everything about them to me says warm and comforting.
Do apples mean the same thing to you?

Apple of My Eye:
I made this greeting card using Krafting Kimmie's Snow White stamp set.
Base of the card is a pre-done (Yes, I cheated!) The Paper Company card base in Hunter Elegant Leaf.
Background is white card-stock liberally sprayed with orange, yellow and copper glimmer mist, which I then smooshed around with another sheet on top. I wanted a soft-glow-shimmery feel.
The apples and Snow White were all stamped then colored with Stampin'Up! Markers and cut out.
Shimmered up her skirt with 3D Crystal lacquer and glitter. Same for the apples... the main apple also has a top coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer.

CHAPTER 26: Sizing up a Sketch...

"The Caterpillar was the first to speak.

Alice said nothing: she had never been so much contradicted in her life before, and she felt that she was losing her temper.
`Are you content now?' said the Caterpillar.
`Well, I should like to be a LITTLE larger, sir, if you wouldn't mind,' said Alice: `three inches is such a wretched height to be.'
`It is a very good height indeed!' said the Caterpillar angrily, rearing itself upright as it spoke (it was exactly three inches high).
`But I'm not used to it!' pleaded poor Alice in a piteous tone. And she thought of herself, `I wish the creatures wouldn't be so easily offended!'
`You'll get used to it in time,' said the Caterpillar; and it put the hookah into its mouth and began smoking again..."

We are sizing up a GREAT sketch by JEN and the main panel just HAPPENS to be THREE. INCHES. TALL. :) Now, of course you don't have to stick to this if your image won't fit, but we didn't want to anger Mr. Caterpillar by saying that Three inches wasn't a respectable height, so here's the sketch:

I don't *think* any of my Bridesmaids read my Blog regularly, they see my Artwork on FaceBook in my ~Artist 365~ Album... so I *think* I'm safe to post these here.;
They are for: 3 bridesmaid, 2 ladies helping with the food stuff & 1 maid-of-honour.
I'm thrilled with how well they turned out!

Kard Krazy TagTuesday Challenge -- Christmas "Colors" in July

So for today's challenge I thought we would do Christmas "colors" in July. Which means to create a tag using the traditional Christmas colors of red and green -- but do NOT make it a Christmas tag. Bring these colors into a tag that has some other theme than Christmas.

Three Muses - Odd Bird
Nothing pleases me more than creating odd characters. I think we've all known at least one Stanley -- someone who is a bit exotic, a bit of a caricature and a bit flamboyant who loves to be a bit different. This challenge should produce some wonderful odd fellows. I can hardly wait!

Tuesday Taggers: Hang it all, its a Canvas
This week its my (Zoe) turn to set the theme, thought a great big wide open theme 'Canvas' would be fun. This can go in any direction you want there are all sorts of canvas to choose; pads of canvas paper, canvas board, boxed canvasses they come in all sizes. Use a piece of canvas with other materials needs to be a reasonable size and not just a little scrap some where. Canvas is used to make sails, bags, chairs all sorts of things have a play and then come back and show us what you have done.

I decided this would be a great time to get the Door Sign done for the New Studio.
I used the Lola Da Vinci Stamp, with a few tweaks...
I *had* to add my freckles and a pair of glasses to make her more 'Me'.
Red hair, blue-gray eyes... though I do not rock the overalls anywhere that good in Real Life.
My Bum is um... bigger. ;O)
I used a cardboard mount, pre-treated canvas board. (all hail the $ store!)
blobbed on my paints nice & thick, let it dry over night... attached the Lola/Sarah and paint can (I drew all by myself) and finally painted the Message.

The back has a peel & stick hanger on it...
NOW I just need to get my fiance to actually GET the door up so I can hang this there.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #39!! - Mostly Monochromatic
This week's challenge is called Mostly Monochromatic!!! A lot of M's, wouldn't you say?? She's challenged us to make a card that is mostly one particular colour....so use mostly pink or mostly purple or mostly one colour on your creation!

I knew, knew, knew which one I wanted to do...
I have been salivating over the chance to get SteamPunk-y with these images.
I want Lavinia's outfit for an outing with our local SteamPunk group! :::drool:::
I started the background with a piece of 'clock' paper from one of the big Pads (unkown) we all bought yeeeeears ago. I used the Shifting Gears Gel-a-Tins set to Cog & Gear it up a bit... and inked the edges.
The layer behind is actually yellow parchment paper which I stamped with Lavinia's accompanying Gear stamp then 'aged' the edges with ink.
Lastly is Black... also stamped with the gears but it doesn't show in the photo (poo!).
All Ink & Markers used are Stampin'Up!
Brass Goggles Forever!!!
