Altered week. Alter Anything !
This week is altered week which is sponsored by our good friends over at The Craft Barn!
So, this week we want to see your altered art, something transformed from the everyday to something creative!
*********
I decided to alter a 6' X 9 1/2" Cutting Board.
I've been dying to make something 'Absinthe-y' to go with our ever growing Steampunk Decor.
I started by staining the board with 2 light coats of acrylic paint really, really watered down. I find this works great for picking up the grain in pine bases.
The edges are stamped with a Stampin' Up! Gear stamp (Sense of Time set).
Vintage poster images printed to size, cut then *really* sanded...
to get them looking more like old peeled off labels.
More ink around the edges.

Fantastic creation just perfect for the TioT challenge this week. Thank you for joining us. xx
Terrific alteration, a good resource. Love the style and subject, perfect for this week at TIOT. Caz
Fab-U-Lous!!!!!! What a great idea, to add a little more funk to your steampunk! And what a great idea, to use an extra cutting board for that purpose.
Are we going to be allowed a few other peeks into your steampunk digs? I love to see what others find to do with this fave theme of mine in their decorating.
Always so fun coming by here-I never know what to expect!
:)
