1. Use a handmade title = 1 pt

2. Use Stripes = 2 pts

3. Scrap a pregnancy or new baby photo = 3 pts

Well... I have procrastinated long enough.

I'm suuure you can see orbiting satellites around my belly.
*sigh*
Ok, you can stop laughing at the pictures...
I cover the criteria:
1. Handmade Title: Check! PINK is hand cut, glimmer misted then inked.
2. Use stripes: Check! Pattern Paper background.
3. Preggo pictures a plenty: Check!
No seriously!
You can stop laughing at the pictures... now.

Gutter Girlz Prompt #40...

The prompt this time is:
The PROMPT: Memories
The SONG: "No, I don't remember" by Anna Ternheim
The Product/Technique: Overlays/transparencies

Overlays/Transparencies:
I have them... I've never used them... this was a 1st for me!
I'm still in a Wedding Mindset (sowy!) so I made my LO about forging ahead and making *NEW* Memories... the pictures across the bottom are the ones my Dad snapped when Greg proposed Christmas Morning & me saying 'YES!'. Actually I sobbed 'yes'... lol, I'm such a marshmallow.
The overlay is FancyPants and the stick on Gems are Prima.

The Gems are stuck on top of the overlay.

It was finicky cutting the pictures to fit underneath, then layering the journaling and yellow inked card-stock. But I think it was worth it!

Journaling:
Christmas Morning Proposal 2008
I was on a downslide, wasting my days
When I met you, I came to, such a lovely place
We laughed and cried our way through
The days and nights, the weeks and months
And all the seasons, ups and downs
Lyric by Anna Ternheim
Making NEW Memories… with You.

A couple of up-close shots... trying to show the layering better:

Clear the Decks...

I got both of these postcards done in the wee hours of the morning and was to tired to post... clearing the decks for tonight's work!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC40

Dirty & Creepy Friday Night...

Odd selection this Friday evening.
I got Dirty... then a little Creepy...

Dirty Scraps

IMPACT!!! I think of a car wreck when I hear the word IMPACT, but it can mean so many different things. An abusive parent can IMPACT your life in detrimental ways.
A wonderful teacher can IMPACT your life in amazing ways, a loving mother can IMPACT your life forever. You can be scarred or shaped with it. Scrap a page with the word IMPACT in it, make it strong, make it you!

I am so happy to have the chance to do a page to this wonderful lady... she was a defining influence in my life, fer sure.
I started stark (as she always suggested) and just let my Muse takeover and collect things for the page. I used paint behind everything. The letters for ART are punch-out frames (leftovers) I trimmed them off the sheet then pasted them over the paint. I glimmer misted the letters in IMPACT! and also pasted them into paint.
I found one of Roberta's Bios online (from an exhibit she did in 2002)and added that as well as a mini of the print she gave me on my last day. The significance of the Bunny because I had brought my Rabbit, Ebony in as a 'model' for the class. (no nudes in high-school! lol)

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using spiders as the MAIN focus. Six, eight or more legs the better! Fuzzy, shiny, ugly, cute... let's see those spideys :)

*shudder*
This. was. really. hard. to. do.
I have a pretty bad phobia of spiders...
I'm still pretty impressed I made it through the process of selecting an image let alone touching it for the cutting & pasting. Be proud of me!
Black Widow Postcard:
I could Mate with you... but then I'll have to kill you.

Art Journal Prompt for this week!

Silver Sixpence in her Shoe.

Ahhh… Money & Luck… do you have them: Together? Separately? Not at all? Or perhaps have a technique that you feels gives you luck? What is the Sixpence in YOUR shoe?

DT pages for ARTastic Challenge Blog

Diva demand for an extra 6 bonus points, try and work the following into your layout, card or OTP project ......
1. Sun or sunset = 1pt
2. Shades of blue and green on your layout = 2pts
3. A cut out black silhouette image = 3pts

**********************************************
These pictures were taken at the SteamPunk Science Fair recently put on by our Local SteamPunk group.
The beautiful doors of the old church, it was held in, were too much to resist while we were all dressed up!
I started with plain blue card stock, glimmer misted some of the TimHoltz Cogs&Gears Masks (hard to see but they're there, honest!) then a Stamped more cogs &gears on with the Gel-a-tins Shifting Gears set (one of my newest *toys*). I added the Verdigris Sun (clipart), a couple of keys (stickers) & the Gear Silhouettes (hand cut cardstock). The Soul Mates & Kindred Spirit are snip-outs from a Heartwarming Vintage Cuts sheet, Steampunk (clipart)and Green metal Family sign for the title.
So I have everything covered: Blue/Green, Cut-out Silhouettes and a Sun!

Excerpt from the Diary of Lady Dr. S.Elliott:
We are on a mission to find my ‘Husband’.
Though truthfully I am already a Widow…
He was attacked by a Vampyre and no body was even found.
We know he is still out there and until we truly kill him we will search through time, hunting the hunter.
Killing any other unholy demons we encounter in our Travels… May God Be with Us…

Steampunk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction and speculative fiction, that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes fictional works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used — usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era Britain — but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, often featuring futuristic technology as the people of this historical period would have envisioned it to look like, i.e. based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer, but occurring at an earlier date.
Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" for such technology as dirigibles, analog computers, or digital mechanical computers (such as Charles Babbage's Analytical engine).

Gutter Girlz #39

and did this:
I decided to challenge myself to ONLY use trash.
It was hard but I did it!
The 'image' of myself is all made of Security Envelopes.
Background is a backing from a 12 X 12 paper pad, lightly inked.
'Media' is from magazines, newspaper and mail-flyers.
Title Block is the backing from a 'Say it with Crystals' by Prima.

Scrap That Poetry #20...

This is my newbie try at Scrap That Poetry...

Challenge #20- Dreams

Dreams
by Langston Hughes
Do you have dreams? What are your dreams? Do you have dreams for your children or your grandchildren just waiting to be scrapped!
Well, this poem is ready for you to be scrapbooked and remembered!

I started with a sheet of paper from Fancy Pants 'On a Whimsy' kit and a strip cut off another one. Then I stamped, inked and doodled my way to what you see.
All stamps are Fancy Pants either the 12 X 12 or 6 X 6 stamp sets.
Markers are Stampin'Up!
Craft 'list'is My Minds Eye Daily Dose.

Journaling:

Kraftin' Kimmie Day!

I decided this would be a great time to get the Door Sign done for the New Studio.
I used the Lola Da Vinci Stamp, with a few tweaks...
I *had* to add my freckles and a pair of glasses to make her more 'Me'.
Red hair, blue-gray eyes... though I do not rock the overalls anywhere that good in Real Life.
My Bum is um... bigger. ;O)
I used a cardboard mount, pre-treated canvas board. (all hail the $ store!)
blobbed on my paints nice & thick, let it dry over night... attached the Lola/Sarah and paint can (I drew all by myself) and finally painted the Message.
Welcome to Sunshine Studio
The back has a peel & stick hanger on it...
NOW I just need to get my fiance to actually GET the door up so I can hang this there.
All images are colored with Stampin'Up! Markers.
Paint is DecoArt.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #39!! - Mostly Monochromatic
This week's challenge is called Mostly Monochromatic!!! A lot of M's, wouldn't you say?? She's challenged us to make a card that is mostly one particular colour....so use mostly pink or mostly purple or mostly one colour on your creation!

I knew, knew, knew which one I wanted to do...
I have been salivating over the chance to get SteamPunk-y with these images.
I want Lavinia's outfit for an outing with our local SteamPunk group! :::drool:::
I started the background with a piece of 'clock' paper from one of the big Pads (unkown) we all bought yeeeeears ago. I used the Shifting Gears Gel-a-Tins set to Cog & Gear it up a bit... and inked the edges.
The layer behind is actually yellow parchment paper which I stamped with Lavinia's accompanying Gear stamp then 'aged' the edges with ink.
Lastly is Black... also stamped with the gears but it doesn't show in the photo (poo!).
All Ink & Markers used are Stampin'Up!

Merry Christmas in JULY!!! ...it is the 25th, ya know!

5 months til Christmas... *giggle* yeah, I know... seems like forever.
For me even more so!
Today marks exactly 2 months til our Wedding September 25th...
Something else I feel totally unprepared for even though everything is buzzing along.
Sooooo...
I decided to drag put my bin of Christmas Sh-tuff and distract myself.
Got 2 challenges done, all in good 'spirits'.
MERRY CHRISTMAS in JULY!!!

Welcome to another fluttering Wednesday!!
This week your challenge is Christmas in July--however you perceive it! Just be sure to use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your new creation!!

I couldn't make up my mind: red on green? or green on red?
So I made both!
Textured cardstock is from the DCWV Christmas Card Stack.
Pattern paper is from DCWV Christmas Stack (2009).
Butterfly Mask, Stamp & Glimmer Mists are Tattered Angels.
Christmas Stamp is from Close the My Heart 'Vintage Christmas' set.
All inks Stampin'Up!
Ribbon & Holly... Stash Booty! (unknown)

Every month we will be bringing you a sketch and detail challenge…the sketch component is optional however the detail (or element) component is not…have fun.

I tried reeeeeeeeally hard to stick with the sketch.
Sketch following is new to me... I usually just sit down and start putting things together.
Drives the sketch-followers crazee... but that's just the way my brain works or sorta-works... lol.
Pattern Paper is Creative Imaginations Tinsel Town Pad.
Textured Cardstock (red) DCWV.
Glitter Tree sticker are Recollections.
All inks are Stampin'Up!
Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.
Stamps are Close to My Heart No Peeking and Vintage Christmas Sets.
I used the Vintage set on the Textured Red Cardstock... repeating pattern
The Merry Christmas from the No Peeking set is heat embossed in Stampendous PEARLlustre: Sapphire, then stamped over again in black.

Busy... Busy Evening

My Muse decided to dust herself off and make an appearance tonight...
I missed her. :O)
Now that the trial is over I can feel some of the tension loosening.
(For those that have been following, see previous post for the final deets.)
I didn't even realize that Saturday past and Sunday started... lol.

4x4 Friday: Compass Rose

This week's 4x4 Friday challenge is to incorporate a compass rose into your design. Enjoy!

Went a wee bit Steampunk-y, blame it on FINALLY getting some cog & gears stamps.

Kard Krazy

Tag Tuesday Challenge #60 -- Faces

Feel free to interpret this however you'd like and use whatever medium you'd like.

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland!
The idea has been simmering in my head to replicated the Talking Flower Garden
and this was the poi-fect time.
Clip-Art Freebie sheet put to good use and many, many paper flowers.

Lots To Do

Week 29 - Shapes

This week we are looking at "Shapes" - interpret it anyway you like a shaped card, shapes on your work - whatever so long as you follow the theme.

Template came from Mirkwood.

Black & White 'Victoriana' clip-art sheet snipped and pasted on,
then sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
I wanted to get a fuzzing on the images so I went heavy.
Edged out in bark brown ink.

Oh, Alice

CHAPTER 23: Ravens and Writing Desks...

The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this; but all he said was, "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?" "Come, we shall have some fun now!" thought Alice. "I'm glad they've begun asking riddles. — I believe I can guess that," she added aloud. "Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?" said the March Hare. "Exactly so," said Alice. "Then you should say what you mean," the March Hare wen t on. "I do," Alice hastily replied; "at least--at least I mean what I say--that's the same thing, you know." This week, we challenge you to use BIRDS on your card or papercrafting project! We may never know the answer to the riddle above, but while we're pondering that and life's little mysteries we may as well make a great card or two in the process, right?

Postcard Art...
Background is blue Glimmer Misted dove Mask.
Spritz of black under the cut out Crow clip-art.
Fancy Pants stamping over the quote:
Censure acquits the raven, but pursues the dove.
Juvenal

Court Update:

For those that have written to ask about how Court went Friday...
((warm hugs))) and Thank-You.

It went better than I expected... I didn't even have to testify, which was a HUGE blessing.

All 3 witness' showed so at the last minute my EX put in a guilty plea for all 7 counts of 'uttering death threats' and they made a deal.
3 years non-reporting probation (so no record or jail time)
10 years no owning fire-arms
While on the 3 yr probation:
No owning or handling any weapons notably any 'edged weapons'
He must continue counseling/medication
He also has to cease the Archery he was involved with.
No contact order continues for all threatened parties (Greg, Vince, both my parents and myself)
Any dealing re:the kids must go through family court/lawyer.

I think we call all live with that! :O)

Male... er, Mail call for the Ladies...

Tonight I worked on 2 projects for the 'Ladies':
1 for the Girls
&
1 for the WOMEN.

One Powerful Hour: Envelope Art
This week let's decorate envelopes to hold our wonderful cards. Use any size or style of envelope, you could even fold your own and decorate it. It could be just a simple stamp or a complete piece of art. Any theme is fair game as long as you use an envelope.

I use any excuse to go PINK,
having 4 boys the opportunity doesn't come around often.
Envelope was cross sprayed with PINK Glimmer Mist,
once it was dry I set to stamping.
The Purple flourishes, PINK diamonds and Grey polka-dot frame are Fancy Pants.
The purse, shoes & phrase are from a Micheal's Bin set (unknown)

The Three Muses Challenge - Mail Art
The theme for this week is MAIL ART. I had a lot of fun making a decorated envelope as a sample for the challenge but any type of mail art is welcome. So bring out your stamps and your postmarks and your mail ephemera and show us what you can do with them.

I made a Postcard...
OH! MAIL Art... not Male Art... whoops, sorry!
Paper is an unknown scrap Postage Stamps are all real.
How do you like dem'Apples?

ScrapFIT: WO #24 "Freestyle Relay"

---since this is our last WO together with the current FITgirl Team I want you to pick a favorite LO by a FITgirl and “lift” it, but change it up somehow.

I choose Heather's LO from WO #6: Checkers (October)
I really liked the uncluttered look... so very, very unlike my usually FULL pages.
The fact that it was an engagement picture caught my attention.

This was my take...
The picture is from our Betrothal Handfasting Ceremony. We're getting married this year, September 25th 2010... so soon!
I flipped the picture and paper strips because my photo was tall as opposed to wide. I kept the circle where it was but moved the 2 embellishments, hand journaling and title to keep them circling the photo.
Background is Kraft spritz with Red Glimmer Mist (bit of green under the title). Pattern Paper is all DCWV 'Happily Ever After'.
Titles and embellishments are all Little Yellow Bicycle 'Love Letters'.
I just LOVE that the title was the same shape and I'm very in love with the mini-calender I was able to set the date on myself.

Oh, Alice! Chapter 22: Dancing under the Sea

"Will you walk a little faster?" said the whiting to the snail;
"There's a porpoise right behind us and he's treading on my tail!
See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
They are waiting on the shingle, will you come and join the dance?`
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you-WILL you join the dance?"

Hello everyone! Greetings from here in Wonderland...or maybe today it's UNDERland? As in Under the Sea, perhaps ;)So, today's challenge involves all things sea-worthy and we at Oh, Alice are challeng
ing YOU to create a card or project using sea life! Turtles, whales, dolphins are fabulous as are other sea creatures as in merfolk and those deep, dark creatures you sometimes hear about but seldom see.... the possibilities are as endless as the ocean itself!

I had no plans for this one just sat down and started playing...
I ended up with a Tag. The base is a standard manila shipping tag, then stamped with 2 different stamps from one of the 12 X 12 Fancy Pants sets. I then sprayed it in 2 shades of blue and 1 purple Glimmer Mist. I did it heavy then smooshed it with a sheet of paper to 'lose' the speckles and get more of a 'water' feel. The Sea Horse is snipped from the Antiquity sheet in the Graphic 45 Botanicabella line. Sanded, inked, glimmer misted then rolled on the edges while still damp.
I added some fiber water on the bottom and glue-gunned a few Sea Shell Beads on.
I'm quite happy with this little Adventure under the Sea.

OK... I got 1 done before court...

HDH048 - Wayward Words

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Wayward Words

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using text/words as the MAIN focus. Poetry, prose, riddle, rhyme, text, quotes or statements... as long as it's got a wicked or creepy edge, it works!

I HAD to play with my new Kraftin Kimmie stamps... :O)!!!
I used Perfect Poison for this one. Lightly colored over with Stampin'Up! Markers.
The text is the 3 Witch's 'Recipe' from William Shakespeare's MacBeth.
Age-inking around all edges.

Chop-Chop... (& may be away)

My BIG purchase was a ton of:

Bernadette
Chester
Cutthroat Lizzie
Drucilla (not in yet but enroute!)
Emilia
Gabrielle
Genevieve
Giselle
Henri
Lavinia
Lola Davinci
Monique
Perfect Poison

The are all unmounted so that of course meant an afternoon of playing 'puzzle pieces' on some EZ Mount foam sheets. Then... *shudder* THE CUTTING!
omg... the blisters!
But oh so worth it... I can't wait to play! :O)

Also just a quick note to say it's entirely possible I may be blog-absent for a few days, at least.
Tomorrow is the day I have to testify in court against my Ex-husband. He was charged over a year ago now with 'uttering death threats' against myself, my fiance, both my parents and Social Services. He also threatened to come to our house where we host (at that time) a weekly house-church and kill everyone there too.
I'm totally out-of-sorts and other than snipping the rubber today... not feeling too much like making anything. My Muse is on hold... I think she's hiding, kinda like I want to right now.
I know I have to suck-it-up and do what I need to on the stand tomorrow but definitely... any prayer or thoughts of us tomorrow would be most appreciated.
Thanks so much guys.

Scrap Your Crap #55: Brought to you by the number 5

This challenge is all about the number 5...
We are on challenge number 55 so how fun would it be to use increments of 5.
Ex: 5 different pattern papers, 5 buttons, 5 pictures, 5 misc embellishments...you get the drift....if you use it make sure it is in increments of 5... easy peasy right? This will be a great way to finish off those packages of embellishments that you bought and used a few of them and still have a gazillion left...or better yet..do you save your scraps of pp? Pull those out and use them...just make sure you use 5!

This was another messy, messy page... my fav!
I started with Sassafras: Amplify paper in the back ground, the 'cork' journal block and heart strip are also from the same pad.
I spread paint behind the strip, journal block and photo, squishing them on so the paint bubbled out around the edges. One of my favorite techniques, it adds some messy texture.
For my 5 I:
* used 5 different colored brads
* stapled on 5 different ribbons
*attached 5 flowers
*used 5 as part of my journaling
The Picture is my fiance with my4 boyz. It's my favorite one of them all.
lol... poor Greg. ;O)

Rush-Tags!!!

I'm sooooo behind this week... blame it on a combination of Wedding Preparations & stress over the up-coming court case (I'm testifying against my EX who threatened to kill us. Been a looooong wait.). I'm not sure which way I'm going! lol
I'm hoping it's not to late late to slide my Dragon's Dream TIO and Tuesday Tagger works in.

Dragon's Dream TIO: Shabby Chic
This week, I would like you to dream in shabby chic and to use at least one real stamp.

ENJOY!!!
Frankie
xx

I did use a stamp but despite my up-close shot it still didn't show really well. I used a stippled stamp to 'age' the flowers with brown ink.

Tuesday Taggers: Anniversaries
It is my 21st Wedding Anniversary on 15th July - eeekk!! All those years with the same bloke! Well, he is my soul-mate and bestest friend (pass me the sick bucket! LOL) So that is why I have set this challenge for you. I'd love to see any projects featuring anniversaries, not just wedding ones! Any project you like, tags, scrap layouts, cards, whatever, just as long as there is a reference to anniversaries on it somewhere!!

I dug into the antique lace for this one!

Scrap the Boys: Just the Facts!

Whooo hoo!
I've stumbled on a fantastic Scrapbooking Challenge
site that I'm SURE I'll be making more pages for:

Scrap the Boys
Yup, just boys ALL the time.

Gee you think with 4 boyz...
and no frilly pink encased little estrogen carrier this *might* be the site for me? lol

I hopped right into the
July 1st Challenge - “Just the Facts …”

For the first challenge we thought we would make it a nice easy one…
but something our busy lives forget to do….
and that is capture the vital information of your boy right now.

So for your layout I would like you to use a portrait shot, one of those “nothing photos” (you know that photo you love but does not have a story or event attached to it) and record your boy’s vital statistics right now making sure you add in some quirky facts about them.

This is you in Grade 6, Baby!

Three Muses and an Art Journal Page...

Got a couple more things done tonight...

Three Muses #59:FLYING CARPET TRAVELS
This week I challenge you to take us all on a FLYING CARPET RIDE.

Artist Postcard.... Liberally sprayed Glimmer Mist 'sky', Book Page Mountains and a Book 'flying carpet' made from a book page and part of an actual cover.

lol... since I'm still the Guest DT on Your Life Spelled Out for July....
Figured I should do a catch up page. (where's the guilty-look icon????)
